The CD is dying…

You probably know, The CD did not for much longer ! And soon will go to Fnac to recharge his ipod, for those who do not already have Internet…
I must say that I regret. The CD will always be for me an object of pleasure.
Because in addition to holding his hands a physical object that crosses the years, this is some small way “part” an artist who is offered. We enter a world through many meanings. Hearing, obviously, but also sight and touch.
That is why I am always entertained to tear the cellophane, insert the disc into the tray and browse cd booklet, photos and other illustrations, and to read texts at the same time as discovering these new songs. In addition to pushing the creative act a little further, be accompanied our lives, and he will not fail to awaken many memories when we find ourselves in our multicolored disco.

I do not think we have the same relationship with the cloud and the same music we change the way we consume music. We are much less involved ! The album designed by the creator who wanted to give us a “moment” its life, is embedded in the digital ocean. It is no longer a similar folder thousand, lost in the depths of a hard disk. It certainly goes back to basics – music – (in a lower sound quality) more il perd, I find, some form of identity, personality, Character.

Do not see me as a refractory technology, I am a little geek on the edges and now I listen to music on my ipod maybe more than my hi-fi ! This does not prevent me from having still fun to wander through the shelves of record stores in search of good cake ! Brief, I think it is a page that turns and it saddens me. Although technology frees us from day to day a little more comfort and practicality, must accept the party against : a much colder world !
In any case there are some labels that have not resigned and continue to get beautiful CD presented in beautiful packaging. Evidenced by my last two purchases, “tears of peace” et d'Oxmo Puccino “music / material” Dominique A, both released on the label Cinq7/Wagram.
Highlights any event, expect me to treat packaging “Nothing is perfect” ! At the rate things are going, it will surely be the last time I get out an album on a physical medium !
